FYIs
- Bills are issued the first of each month and payment is due on or before the 25th of each month.
- Payments received on or before the 25th are on-time.
- Any payment received after the 25th is considered a late payment and is assessed a $10.00 late fee.
- If two months elapse without payment, the account enters shut-off status and is assessed a $50.00 penalty on the 26th day of the second month.
- In the event the water is shut off, a $25.00 fee for water shut off and an additional $25.00 fee to reinstate the water is charged.
- Meters are read monthly between March and October. November-February, meters “hibernate”, with customers being billed at their base rate only.
New Accounts
Application To establish a new account with the City of Dufur, you will need to submit a complete, signed Utility Application to the City. You can pick up a paper copy at City Hall or you can download the form here to print off at home.
Deposit A deposit is required for all new accounts. Deposits are refundable to the account after one year of payments made on-time with no penalty applied.

Inside City Limits:
- Base rate $38.80 (up to 10,000 gallons per month)
- Street Paving Fund $5.00
- Sewer Fee $63.00
- Capital Improvements Fee $5.00
- DEQ Sewer Assessment $10.00
Monthly Total Base Bill $121.80
Outside City Limits:
- Base rate $65.89 (up to 10,000 gallons per month)
- Capital Improvements Fee $5.00
Monthly Total Base Bill $70.89
Usage Above 10,000 gallons per month
10,000 gallons are included with monthly base water rates. Tiered structure for over 10,000 gallons:
- 10,100 – 15,000 = $0.10 for every 100 gallons
- 15,100 – 25,000 = $0.15 for every 100 gallons
- 25,100 and over = $0.25 for every 100 gallons
Vacation Shutoff
You may temporarily pause your water service while you are away. Call the City office for details.
